Surf CMS allows administrators to create user accounts and automatically expire access on a specified date. This is especially useful for digital subscribers, temporary staff, interns, and other users who should only have access for a limited time.

Step 1: Log In

Log in to your website using an administrator account.

Step 2: Open User Management

From the administrative toolbar, select People, or click Manage Users from the Shortcuts menu.

Then click Add User.

Step 3: Enter User Information

Complete the required account information:

  • Email address
  • Username
  • Password

Step 4: Assign a Role

Under the Roles section, check the role(s) you want to assign to the new user.

Examples include:

  • Subscriber
  • Publisher
  • Editor
  • Administrator

Once a role is selected, the Role Expiration section will automatically appear.

Step 5: Set the Expiration Date

Choose the date when the selected role should expire.

On the expiration date, Surf CMS will automatically remove the role, preventing the user from accessing features associated with that role. If the user has no remaining roles, they will no longer be able to log in.

Step 6: Create the Account

Click Create New Account to save the new user.

The user will immediately have access based on the assigned role and will retain that access until the expiration date you specified.
