The Manage Users page allows administrators to quickly locate and manage user accounts on the website. Whether you’re looking for a subscriber, publisher, editor, or administrator, the search tools make it easy to find the account you need.
Accessing the Manage Users Page
After logging in with an account that has administrative privileges:
- Click People from the administrative toolbar, or select Manage Users from the Shortcuts menu.
- The Manage Users page will open, displaying a list of all user accounts on your website.
Searching for a User
If you have a large number of users or subscribers, you can quickly locate a specific account using the search feature.
You can search by:
- Username
- Email Address
Simply enter the username or email address into the search field and click Search to display matching accounts.
Information Displayed
The Manage Users page provides a quick overview of each account, including:
- Username
- Email address
- Assigned role(s)
- Account status (Active or Blocked)
- Date the account was created
- Last login date (if available)
- Role expiration date (if applicable)
This information allows administrators to quickly verify user access and identify accounts that may require updates.
Editing a User
To update a user’s account:
- Locate the user in the list.
- Click Edit next to the account.
- Make any necessary changes, such as:
- Updating the email address
- Changing the password
- Assigning or removing roles
- Updating the role expiration date
- Blocking or reactivating the account
- Click Save to apply your changes.
Managing Subscribers
For websites with digital subscriptions, the Manage Users page is also the primary location for managing subscriber accounts.
From this page, administrators can:
- Verify whether a subscription role has been assigned.
- Confirm the subscriber’s expiration date.
- Extend or modify subscription access.
- Reset passwords when needed.
- Update account information.
Tips
- Searching by email address is often the fastest way to locate a subscriber, especially if multiple users have similar names.
- If a subscriber reports they cannot access premium content, first verify that their account is active, has the correct subscriber role, and that the role has not expired.
- Encourage users to provide the email address associated with their account when requesting support to speed up the lookup process.
